The area in the proximity of Gęsia str in Lublin, Poland are subject to a powerful urban sprawl and due to their attractive placement right next to a forest they have caught the attention of numerous developers. The venue, known as the Węglin estate, suffers from the lack of control over these enterprises, which often hold no respect or regard to the natural qualities of the surroundings or the terrain.
This design's main focus was to introduce order to the new settlements and to create a living center for the inhabitants. The focal point of this area is the set of retail and service buildings placed on the central hill. The estate comprises single-family houses, terraced houses and blocks of apartments placed in such manner that allows the formation of private, semi-private, semi-public and public spaces. The introduction of many new roads and pavements references the placement of existing foot paths whose appearance was directly induced by the lack of proper roads and their too low overall number to properly communicate the main areas within the venue. The proposed net of roads and pavements is an answer to this demand.
One of the greater challenges here was to preserve the small gorges which are included within the ESOCH area - an area protected because of its recognized natural values. These gorges had to be properly protected, yet included in the settlement and opened for the visitors. These areas have been excludes from any forms of building and no objects can be erected there save for gazebos. They serve as venues for leisure and recreational purposes.

The proposed buildings are maintained in a modern fashion - they employ natural wood on their elevation to go with ascetic white plaster. Each block of apartments has its small private space for the tenants. The smaller terraced houses are grouped in small clusters which allows the creation of small public spaces and the formation of neighborly ties.

Areas placed in the outskirts of big cities often lack proper planning documents and laws, relying on the most basic ones only. The urban sprawl that often takes place in these locations causes chaos and induces the appearance of of different objects often having little in common in a visual manner, thus degrading the aesthetics of the venue. This design was an attempt on the creation of a complete planning document as well as an example of a possible development to be erected for this specific locations, right next to Choiny estate in Lublin, Poland.
The roads proposed for this settlement follow the terrain and allow for an interesting and unperturbed view from most of the building lots. The majority of the buildings proposed here are small single-family houses, the rest being villas and retail buildings that form the core of the estate at the central hill. The main leisure area is the small gorge, accompanied by smaller squares and an amphitheater. The majority of the city blocks's function is residential, only a few being dedicated to retail and services. The post-design analysis of types of space reveals that the private and public spaces (private building lots and houses as opposed to retail buildings and their plazas, public venues ans the gorge) remain balanced.

"Retrieval of the city' is a series of designs done over the course of a few semesters under the supervision of Dr Inż. Arch. Hubert Trammer, and focuses on the re-development of underdeveloped and degenerated venues around the city of Lublin. One of the greatest challenges was to change the surroundings or Rondo Lubelskiego Lipca '80 into a more pedestrian-friendly zone with better aesthetics and greater safety.

One of the main principles for this design was to decrease the dominance and overall area of roads to an indispensable minimum, allowing for more space for residential and non-residential buildings and public spaces. We also proposed the adding of more objects for the city's inhabitants and to activate the area socially. Additionally, the newly designed buildings would fill the gaps between existing objects and hide the private backyards from view.
Other main principles for this design include the increase of roads dedicated solely for cycling, the creation of a boulevard, the introduction of new retail buildings, including new restaurants and objects dedicated to the management of water traffic and the formation of a new space for recreation in a natural environment. Additionally, the venue requires revitalisation to encourage the inhabitants to visit. The tenement houses need to be renovated. Wider streets could profit from the introduction of promenades in exchange for thinning the number of traffic lanes, and the re-introduction of public transport could prove to be beneficial for the inhabitants in the long run. The assortment of services in the area requires differentiation, and the venue would profit from the introduction of more greenery in the area. The existing buildings could be adapted and gain a new function to draw more people to the location, who would be able to spend their leisure in plazas on open air.

A lot of the venues we are dealing with as designers are empty spaces left between existing settlements - many of those lands being fallow and degenerated. The design of a housing development at the bus terminal with additional infrastructure and a main public square was and interesting challenge. The venue is located at the outskirts of Lublin, between Filaretów str and Widok estate.
The proposed buildings fill in the existing gaps among the existing settlements and exploit a beautiful embankment allowing an undisturbed view at the rural areas and the adjoining forest. The area is well connected with the rest of the city via public communication. The settlement comprises three multi-family residential buildings and a sports center, each building having its own private space for the tenants. The terrain allows for a pleasing view from many parts of the settlement, creating an attractive space to live and visit.

Green belts in big cities often require revitalisation in order to reclaim their natural beauty and functionality in the rapidly changing modern world and to match the demands of a modern society. A small green area in front of the Architecture and Building Faculty of Lublin University of Technology has been scheduled for remodelling due to the planned demolition of a small church placed in front of the faculty. This design presents an idea of upgrading the venue and proposes a memorial to commemorate the long existence of the temple after its planned disappearance: a fountain with a secluded area to sit and rest at one's leisure, new walking paths to meet the communicational needs of travelling students and a small amphitheatre for important events to take place outdoors, all in the company of trees and plants, most of which were left uncut and untouched save for most urgent care and prooning.
